Leigh Steinberg Re-Enters Agent Business, Launching His Own Firm
Leigh Steinberg on Friday launched Steinberg Sports & Entertainment after the NFLPA recertified him as an agent. Steinberg said that he "will represent football players" starting with the '14 NFL Draft. He "hopes to expand into baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, tennis, MMA and consult on TV shows and movies" (AP, 10/4). Steinberg, last certified in '07, left the business amid professional and personal problems, including alcoholism. Pro Football HOFer Bruce Smith said, "In Leigh's heyday, there wasn't anyone better" (USA TODAY, 10/4).
