Inter Milan Owner: No Deal Yet On Majority Stake To Thohir
Serie A club Inter Milan Owner Massimo Moratti today said that "no binding agreement had yet been reached to sell a stake" in the club to MLS DC United and 76ers investor Erick Thohir, though Moratti "saw no major obstacles to a sale." He added that "another month of talks would be needed." Moratti: "There are no major problems to reach an eventual agreement" (REUTERS, 9/19).
This comes after reports today that the two sides were "edging closer to an official deal" that would see Thohir acquire a 70% stake in the club. Italian-language paper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the two sides "held talks in Paris this week and had made 'significant progress' towards signing a deal" (AFP, 9/19).
