Harry Scott Jr. Reaches Deal To Buy Phoenix Racing From James Finch

Harry Scott Jr. has reached a deal to buy Phoenix Racing from James Finch and will take over control of the NASCAR Sprint Cup team on Sept. 10. Justin Allgaier will drive the No. 51 Chevy at Chicagoland, Charlotte and Talladega, with primary sponsorship "in all three races" from agriculture products brand Brandt. Scott will keep the team "intact for the remainder of the season," with Steve Barkdoll to stay on as GM. He will continue as a partner in Nationwide Series team Turner Scott Motorsports (AP, 8/28).
