Ryan Reynolds Promotes Animated Film "Turbo" On "Today" Show

Actor Ryan Reynolds this morning appeared on NBC's "Today"  to promote his new animated film, "Turbo." Reynolds said, "This was how it was pitched to me: A guy with an impossible dream of winning the Indy 500 and I said, 'What's so crazy about that?' And they said, 'Well, he's a snail,' and I said, 'You better animate this movie, because what a painful production that's going to be.'"

Following the interview, Reynolds competed against the show's co-hosts in a game of skee ball in which each player tried to get a car representing a "Turbo" character across the finish line first. NBC Sports Network's Leigh Diffey provided race commentary, while IndyCar drivers Tony Kanaan, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves were on hand to wave the green flag and present the wreath to the winner. Reynolds won and said, "In my defense, the film is called 'Turbo,' not 'Matt Lauer,' so I had to win" ("Today," NBC, 7/9).
