Blackhawks Take Out Ad In Boston Globe Thanking City, Bruins
The Blackhawks on Friday took out a "gracious, full-page ad" in the Boston Globe, in which they "thanked the city of Boston for its hospitality and resilience, and praised the Bruins." The ad, signed by Blackhawks Chair Rocky Wirtz and President & CEO John McDonough, reads in part:
"On behalf of the Chicago Blackhawks organization and the entire Wirtz Corporation, we want to personally express our heartfelt appreciation to your city, the Bruins organization, and especially the citizens of Boston. ... From Boston's political leadership to every member of the Bruins organization, from the players to the people on the streets, you demonstrated respect, good sportsmanship, and a genuine love of the great game of hockey" (CSNNE.com, 6/28).
