Jacksonville Has Not Determined How To Pay For Stadium Upgrades
Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown "has not yet determined how the city will pay its share" of $63M in planned EverBank Field improvements. The Jaguars have agreed to pay $19.9M with the city putting up $43M for two videoboards, but spokesperson David DeCamp said that the "administration is examining ways to pay the city's share." Incoming City Council President Bill Gulliford said that he "has not been briefed by the mayor" on financing the project. Gulliford: "That's the best-kept secret in Jacksonville, apparently" (JACKSONVILLE.com, 6/20).
