NCAA Will No Longer Host Regional Finals In Domed Stadiums
The NCAA has decided "it is done" using domed stadiums to host regional finals in the men's basketball tournament. NCAA Exec VP/Championships & Alliances Mark Lewis said that "using domes for regionals was a trial run for future Final Fours." He added that regional finals "should be in arenas." The NCAA "will have a portal available in July on its website for Final Four sites to make proposals" for '17-20. A decision on those sites will be made "later in 2014" (ESPN.com, 6/12).
