Search Firm Odgers Berndtson Hires Veteran Sports Exec Andy Dolich

Veteran sports marketing exec Andy Dolich has been hired by the global executive search firm Odgers Berndtson to help grow the company’s sports business practice. Dolich, who has held senior management positions in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, begins his new job as partner immediately. He reports to Steve Potter, managing partner of Odgers Berndtson’s U.S. operations. Dolich will be based in the S.F. area. “It is such a dynamic time now as sports keeps getting bigger with a greater need of skills and positions for teams, organizations, leagues, and entities,” Dolich said. “Odgers has a well-established footprint and they are a global firm.”

Dolich most recently worked as an industry consultant after leaving his job as 49ers COO in '10. He will continue to run his consulting practice while working for Odgers. “He is unquestionably one of the nation’s leading sports executives and few individuals have the depth and breadth of his experience,” Potter said in a statement. “There is no shortage of executives wanting to work in the sports industry, but Andy has the knowledge and insight to determine the requisite skills and talents needed to place them in appropriate assignments where they can be successful.”
