St. Jude's Patient To Help Announce First-Round NFL Draft Pick
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital today announced a deal with the NFL that makes the league's Play 60 campaign the "Official Champion of Play" at the hospital. To commemorate the ongoing relationship between the league and the hospital, a St. Jude patient will join NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on stage to announce a pick during the first round of Thursday's Draft (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital).
Meanwhile, the NFL today announced that "enhanced" security guidelines will be in place for the Draft at Radio City Music Hall. Those entering the venue "must consent to searches by security personnel, with pat-downs and metal detectors among the measures that can be employed." The league said that "all items brought into the building will be inspected" (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 4/23).
