Lone Star Park Opens Race Season Following Renovations
Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie tonight will open a 50-date season, the thoroughbred track's 17th, unveiling $11M of improvements made over a three-year period. Updates include the new Bar and Brook, an "upbeat pub and restaurant" formerly known as the simulcast pavilion. The Silks Dining Terraces "have been renovated," and a concert series is scheduled (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 4/11). About $800,000 was spent to replace the track lighting system, and a new 17-by-60-feet "infield screen was installed at the center of the racetrack" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 4/11).
