Alderman Tunney Says Wrigley Field Scoreboard Discussed, Dismissed

Chicago Alderman Tom Tunney today said in a statement that the idea of replacing Wrigley Field's iconic scoreboard "with a giant video screen was discussed and dismissed during negotiations over how to pay for renovations at the park." Tunney acknowledged that removing the manual scoreboard "was one of many 'creative solutions'" brought up in ongoing negotiations. The Cubs have set an April 1 deadline for "a deal to be in place for the rehabilitation" of the ballpark (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 3/20).
