Ravens May Open Season On Road Due To Conflict With Orioles
The Ravens "aren't sure if they'll host the NFL season opener" in '13 because the team and the Orioles "haven't been able to agree on a compromise" on a scheduling conflict, according to a source. The Orioles are scheduled to host the White Sox on Sept. 5, the same night the NFL "wants to play the season opener." The league looked into moving the game to Wednesday, Sept. 4, but "decided against it because that's the first day of Rosh Hashanah." The Ravens have made several proposals to the Orioles, "but none have satisfied the team" (BALTIMORESUN.com, 3/18).
A source said while opening on the road is on the table for the Ravens, it is the "least desirable" option (NFL.com, 3/18).
