Fox Sports Media Unveils Much-Anticipated Details Of FS1

Fox Sports Media Group today formally announced plans for its new Fox Sports 1 cable network, which is set to debut Aug. 17 as FS1, to be available in more than 90 million homes. The net at launch will feature nearly 5,000 hours of live event, news and original programming annually, including college basketball and football, NASCAR, soccer and UFC. A NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race and UFC event will air on Aug. 17. Other details are as follows:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon coverage of club soccer.
  • UFC coverage on Wednesday nights and live "Fight Nights" through '14.
  • Around-the-clock news and information coverage under the "Fox Sports Live" branding.
  • A morning newscast to launch in January in conjunction with Fox' Super Bowl XLVIII coverage (FSMG).
