Sharks Ownership Shifts As Plattner Buys Out Fellow Investors
Hasso Plattner today "emerged as the new face of the Sharks ownership group" after purchasing shares of the team's parent company from fellow investors Kevin Compton and Stratton Sclavos. Compton and Sclavos had served as the Sharks Sports & Entertainment Exec Committee, though Plattner "always had been considered the partner with the greater investment." Plattner said that Exec VP Malcolm Bordelon "will continue to operate the business side" of the Sharks while GM Doug Wilson "runs the hockey side" (MERCURYNEWS.com, 1/30).
Plattner will now serve as the team's NHL BOG rep. He has owned a majority of the team since '10 (Sharks).
