Report: Sale Of NBA Kings To Hansen-Ballmer Group A "Done Deal"

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's Matt Steinmetz on Friday posted on his Twitter feed, "I've heard from reliable source that the Kings' sale to Hansen-Ballmer in Seattle is done deal. Source said price of the sale is $525 million. The source said further that the Maloofs will have no stake or decision-making with Seattle team and are out" (TWITTER.com, 1/11).

In response, NBA Kings spokesperson Eric Rose said, "Nothing has changed with our position that we will not comment on rumors or speculation about the Sacramento Kings." Kings limited partner Richard Benvenuti, whose family owns 15% of the team, said of a potential sale, "We haven't heard anything about it" (SACBEE.com, 1/11).
