Dayton Warns Vikings Not To Pass Stadium Costs On To Fans
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton today sent a "stern letter" to Vikings ownership "threatening to undo the stadium deal if they pass on the cost of building" the $975M project to the fans. The letter comes "less than a week after the team sent out an e-mail survey to season ticket holders to gauge their willingness to pay thousands of dollars more for personal seat licenses." Revenue generated from the PSLs "would go toward the Vikings' share of the stadium cost" (STARTRIBUNE.com, 11/13).
Meanwhile, representatives of the Vikings, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and architectural firm HKS will hold a forum in Rochester, Minn., to get rural residents' perspective on the team's stadium project. A similar forum will be held in Duluth, Minn., on Nov. 27 (STARTRIBUNE.com, 10/30).
