Delaware North Adds Items, Staff For World Series Games In Detroit

The World Series moves to Detroit with Saturday night's Game 3 at Comerica Park, and concessionaire Delaware North Cos. Sportservice is "ramping up for the record crowds by adding more staff and menu items." The company has added a "Triple Crown Burger" to its offerings in honor of Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera. The suites and club seats will now feature access to a "gourmet hot chocolate bar," and special suite offerings including crab cakes, lamb chops and pumpkin cheesecake (BIZJOURNALS.com, 10/26).

Downtown Detroit businesses are being asked by local leaders "to leave their lights on" during Tigers home games in the series. In addition, businesses with LED or ticker boards are being asked to display the message, "Welcome to the World Series, Go Tigers!" Many businesses and civic groups "are making an extra effort in order to put a good face on the city – and attract more business" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 10/25).
