Sources: L.A. Billionaire Soon-Shiong Part Of Bid To Buy AEG

Sources said that L.A. healthcare magnate Patrick Soon-Shiong has "joined forces" with Guggenheim Partners to make a bid for AEG. Sources added that Soon-Shiong also is "expected to bring in additional partners to join the group." One source said that he is "particularly interested in bringing a professional football team to Los Angeles, and aims to buy a team or encourage one to move so it can play in the new stadium." Soon-Shiong currently holds a 5% ownership stake in the Lakers (REUTERS, 9/24).

This comes after Soon-Shiong attended Thursday's Giants-Panthers game as a guest of Panthers Owner Jerry Richardson (THE DAILY).
