Cars.com today announced that it will advertise in CBS' broadcast of Super Bowl XLVII, the sixth straight year it has advertised in the Super Bowl. The 30-second spot will be produced by mcgarrybowen, which Cars.com named its agency of record in May (Cars.com).

The Univ. of Missouri today announced that AD Mike Alden has signed a two-year contract extension. The deal does not increase Alden's compensation, and future base salary increases "are limited to the same percentage raises provided to the faculty and staff" (AP, 8/30).

The Pro Football HOF today announced that it "plans to raise funds and awareness for the Flight 93 memorial" in Shanksville, Pa., in part by donating $9.11 from every adult admission Sept. 9-12 to the memorial project (AP, 8/30).

Radio broadcaster and former Notre Dame RB Allen Pinkett has been "pulled from the Notre Dame-Navy broadcast on Saturday for his comments about Notre Dame needing more 'criminals' to succeed" (SUNTIMES.com, 8/30).

The NBA D-League today released its '12-13 schedule and announced that CBS Sports Network will for the first time present regular-season and postseason games. NBA TV will air over 30 games, including its D-League Game of the Week (NBA).

Sportsnet today announced that it has purchased the Grand Slam of Curling and will be establishing a new events division (Sportsnet).

National Air Cargo today announced a sponsorship of U.S. figure skater Evan Lysacek. National Air Cargo Group Owner Lori Alf also owns the Palm Beach Ice Works, a figure skating and hockey training facility in South Florida (National Air Cargo).
