NCAA D-I BOD Endorses New Enforcement Model, Does Not Vote

The NCAA Division I BOD today endorsed a series of recommendations to change the NCAA enforcement model, but stopped short of a binding vote, allowing members until an October meeting to voice final feedback. The measures, which would take effect Aug. 1, 2013, would alter how the NCAA handles enforcement cases. Among the changes would be switching from a two-tier to four-tier violation structure; increasing the size of the Committee on Infractions from 10 up to 24; creating new penalty guidelines; and holding head coaches individually accountable for compliance (NCAA).
