Can "Moneyball" Beat The Odds And Take Home Best Picture Oscar?

ABC on Sunday will air the 84th Annual Academy Awards, raising the question of whether "Moneyball" can "make history as the first baseball movie ever to win Best Picture." Sasha Stone, editor of Oscars blog Awards Daily, wrote, "The short answer is no." "The Artist" is the favorite among the Best Picture nominees, and it is "not like Billy Beane can unleash Scott Hatteberg and take down that opposing giant." More Stone: "The Oscar race was already decided many weeks ago when ballots went out. Most voters turn them in early, and so last-minute surprises happen very rarely" (ESPN.com, 2/23).
