NFL Knew Of Possible Super Bowl Seating Issues Last Week

NFL execs today said that the league "knew of a potential Super Bowl XLV seating fiasco by the middle of last week," but that it "didn't alert fans to complications with temporary seating at Cowboys Stadium, the executives said, because they felt they had 'a very good shot' at getting the problems fixed and because they didn't know who exactly might be affected." Officials said that delays for installing the temporary seating at Cowboys Stadium "were not related to inclement weather – and that the problems had nothing to do with an ultimately unsuccessful push for a Super Bowl attendance record" (DALLASNEWS.com, 2/7).

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee Chair Mark Miles said the committee in two weeks will announce how it plans “to be prepared for a full range of weather contingencies” for the '12 game (IBJ.com, 2/7). The weather in the Indianapolis area today and yesterday remained mostly below freezing but without any precipitation in the last 24 hours (THE DAILY).
