Alex Saratsis serves as Senior Director of Global Operations for Octagon Basketball. With more than 18 years of experience in the basketball marketplace both domestically and abroad, Saratsis is responsible for the management of Octagon Basketball’s international presence and building key professional relationships for the agency around the world. Amid a quickly globalizing NBA, Saratsis has established the framework for Octagon’s international basketball operations, by recruiting elite clients from around the globe, and skillfully negotiating millions in playing contracts and endorsement deals for Octagon’s client roster.
As a full-service basketball agent for many of the NBA’s biggest names, Saratsis’ client list is headlined by Milwaukee Bucks F and 2019 NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dallas Mavericks G Seth Curry, Miami Heat C Bam Adebayo, and Oklahoma City Thunder G Dennis Schroder. In addition to recently negotiating a 4-year, $100 million contract extension for Antetokounmpo with the Bucks, Saratsis also secured a landmark global shoe deal for Antetokounmpo with Nike, making him the first-ever international basketball player to receive his own Nike signature shoe, and only the 4th NBA player with combined playing and shoe contracts worth at least $200M.
Known for his initiative and creativity, Saratsis has worked tirelessly over the past ten years to develop strategic partnerships across Europe, Asia and South America that have advanced Octagon Basketball’s impact and footprint worldwide, successfully reaching and influencing the top levels of the industry. Fluent in Spanish, Italian, Greek and English, Saratsis is successful in dealing in international business and creating lasting relationships with clients of many nationalities.
Prior to joining Octagon in 2009, Saratsis managed international operations for CSMG. Saratsis began his career as a player representative at Edge Sports International.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Saratsis currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
