Mr. Bob Arthur is a lifelong devout fan of the Dodgers. His grandfather was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and Bob recalls with fondness, as a kid, sitting on his grandfather’s porch as they listened to the radio broadcast of the Dodgers play the Yankees in the 1955 World Series.
Bob’s father convinced his employer to invest in Dodger season tickets when the team moved west to Los Angeles. Bob attended games at the LA Memorial Coliseum and thousands of games at Dodger Stadium over the past six decades. Official records indicate that their season ticket history dates back to 1963. Bob took over management of their season tickets from his father’s firm in the early 1990’s and continues to cheer on the “Boys in Blue” attending as many games as possible every season. Bob’s favorite games were in the early 60’s when the California Angels shared the stadium with the Dodgers. He still has some of the tokens sold for admission to sit in the bleacher seats and thought it was a great way to take a date to a game.
Bob is a former Mayor of Norwalk and served for twenty-one years as a member of the Cerritos College Board of Trustees.
Bob and his wife Sue are the proud parents of three children, Jennifer Arthur-Perez, Deborah Arthur-Walker and Robert Arthur, and are equally proud of son-in-laws Michael Perez and Neil Walker, daughter-in-law Jennifer Vorhes-Arthur, grandsons Andrew and Gabriel Perez and granddaughter Mila Jai Walker. All are huge Dodger fans.
He and Sue are happily retired after long and successful careers and continue to enjoy participating in numerous local, civic and community events. Bob serves on the Board of Directors for the US Navy LA Recruiting District Civilian Assistants, the Norwalk Community Coordinating Council, the Los Cerritos YMCA, and as President of the Board of Directors for his Optimist Club’s foundation.
Bob was also a season ticket holder during the years when the Raiders played in Los Angeles, the LA Express, and for a few seasons with the Anaheim Angeles in the late 1990’s.
