Steve Marks is a Vice President at Serent Capital, where he helps lead Serent’s investments in sports technology, in addition to the firm’s investments in financial technology and construction technology. At Serent, Steve helped lead the firm’s investment in KORE Software (where he sits on the board), in addition to KORE’s subsequent investment in SponServe.
Prior to joining Serent, Steve worked in technology, private equity, and investment banking. He was co-founder and COO of Joyable (later sold to AbleTo), a digital therapy startup that offered evidence-based programs to address anxiety and depression. Steve helped lead Joyable in growing from two co-founders to over 40 employees, reaching hundreds of thousands of clients, and raising over $10 million in funding. At Joyable, his primary focus was on go-to-market, including customer acquisition, marketing, business development, and sales. Prior to Joyable, Steve was a private equity investor at KKR & Co., where he focused on investments in the financial services and industrials industries. He began his career as an investment banker at Greenhill & Co.
Steve received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He graduated cum laude in Economics from Harvard College and was the Managing Editor of The Harvard Crimson.
