Senior Vice President of Intep Corporation, President of Intel Capital

Wendell Brooks is senior vice president of Intel Corporation and president of Intel Capital. He is responsible for all areas of strategic growth, including equity investing, M&A, and the New Technology Group.

As head of Intel Capital, Intel’s global investment organization, he leads equity investments in innovative technology startups and companies worldwide in support of Intel’s strategic objectives. He also is responsible for leading, managing and driving Intel’s mergers and acquisition strategy and execution and incubating and developing emerging growth businesses as part of the New Technology Group.

Brooks is also responsible for leading Intel Sports and the broader sports eco-system into the next generation of fan experiences. Under his leadership, the team is pioneering the digitization of sports through powerful new technologies that enable fans to experience sporting events in highly personalized ways. He was responsible for acquiring two leading sports technologies, now known as Intel® True View and Intel® True VR, and successfully integrating the entities into the Intel Sports business unit. To date, the Intel Sports team has established relationships with some of the world’s leading sports organizations, including NFL, NBA, PGA Tour, Olympics, La Liga and Turner Broadcast.

Brooks spent 23 years in the investment banking industry, split nearly equally between Europe and the United States. Before joining Intel, Brooks served as a managing director in mergers and acquisitions for Allen & Company working across the media, technology and telecommunications industries. Prior to Allen & Company, Brooks worked for 15 years as a managing director for Citigroup leading Citigroup’s European telecom, media and technology group. While there, he built and managed a team of professionals executing mergers and acquisitions, debt financings, equity financings, and restructurings.

Brooks received a bachelor’s degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago.
