Ken Hersh, 55, is Founder and Owner of Hersh Family Investments and Hersh Interactive Group. He is a Dallas-based private investor who has had a long career investing in natural resources and other industries. He serves as Co-Founder and Advisory Partner of NGP Energy Capital Management, a premier private equity investment franchise in the natural resources industry managing over $20.0 billion of cumulative committed capital since inception in 1988. Through 2015, Ken served as NGP’s Chief Executive Officer.
He currently serves as Senior Advisor to The Carlyle Group’s natural resources division. He is also a board member and minority owner of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club. In May 2016, Ken was named President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a Dallas-based non-partisan institution which houses the George W. Bush Library and Museum and the George W. Bush Institute. The Bush Institute is focused on continuing the work of President and Mrs. George W. Bush.
As an early esports investor, Ken created Hersh Interactive Group to focus on the emerging field. Hersh Interactive Group has assembled a broad portfolio of investments in the esports sector including Envy Gaming, Maestro, Epics Digital Collectibles, GC Interactive, Super League Gaming, and E-Colosseum. Ken sits on the board of Envy Gaming, which owns and operates The Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League, and fields numerous other competitive esports teams under the Team Envy banner.
Through his family office, Hersh Family Investments, Ken also invests across the industrial, technology, and real estate sectors, and he serves on numerous non-profit boards across the nation. Ken was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. After finishing his undergraduate degree at Princeton University, Ken earned his M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
