Senior Vice President of Business, Turner Sports

Valerie Immele was promoted to her current position as Senior Vice President of Business, Turner Sports, in 2016. In this role, she leads teams responsible for strategy and acquisitions, marketing and sales strategic planning on behalf of the division.

Immele is an integral member of Turner Sports’ senior leadership team that has secured long-term, cross-platform TV and digital rights agreements with the NBA, NCAA, MLB and PGA of America.  She also helped lead the creation of Turner’s partnership with WME | IMG to form ELEAGUE, the premium esports tournament brand that debuted in 2016, among other business deals. Immele reports directly to Matt Hong, Chief Operating Officer, Turner Sports.

As a core function of her role, Immele and the strategy and acquisition team focus on identifying the division’s strategic priorities, growing and expanding Turner Sports’ linear and digital portfolio, and supporting acquisitions of sports programming.  

Under Immele’s guidance, the Turner Sports marketing and consumer strategy team develop marketing strategies and executions that grow consumer engagement, advance the divisions brands, and strengthen business partnerships.  

Additionally, through Immele’s leadership, the sales strategic planning team provides forecasting, pricing and inventory management of advertising and sponsorship sales across the entire sports portfolio.          
Immele joined Turner Sports in 1997 as a staff accountant, and held various roles of increasing responsibility on the accounting, finance, and strategy and business development teams, prior to being promoted to Vice President of Strategy and Acquisitions in 2012.
A graduate of the University of West Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Immele resides in Atlanta.
