As Senior Vice President, Global Media Distribution & Business Operations at the NBA, Matt Brabants plays a central role in fueling the league’s international growth, overseeing media distribution and business operations for the NBA, WNBA, G-League, and USA Basketball. Under his direction, NBA games and programming can be viewed in 215 countries and territories in 49 languages.
During his tenure at the NBA, Brabants and his team have expanded the NBA’s distribution footprint and oversaw the addition of many first-time league partnerships with well-established media companies. His groundbreaking partnerships include the NBA’s media agreements with Tencent and Perform Media and new or expanded alliances with ESPN, DirecTV, CCTV, beIN Sports, Globo, and Sony SIX, among others. Under Brabants’ leadership, the NBA has produced a number of internationally driven content initiatives, including the launch of 21 local language NBA.com destinations, the roll-out of “NBA Sundays” across Europe, and the continued expansion of NBA LEAGUE PASS, the league’s direct-to-consumer digital offering.
