Michelle D. Wilson is the Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer of WWE, a publicly traded (NYSE: WWE) global entertainment company. Ms. Wilson, who joined WWE in 2009, is responsible for all of the company’s revenue lines, including WWE Network, Consumer Products, International, Sponsorship and Digital Sales, and TV Licensing. She also oversees Marketing, Corporate Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Creative Services, Entertainment Relations and Special Events. Among her many contributions, Ms. Wilson co-led the launch of WWE Network in 2014, which is currently ranked as the fifth largest SVOD service in the U.S.; transformed the company’s approach to annual tentpole events; ushered in a new strategy to partner with blue-chip brands; and expanded WWE’s community outreach initiatives. In 2016, Ms. Wilson was named one of the 50 most innovative CMOs in the world by Business Insider.
In July 2017, Ms. Wilson’s role was expanded to handle oversight of WWE’s international business, which includes the expansion of its media distribution and growth of WWE Network, both key drivers of WWE’s long-term success.
Prior to joining WWE, Ms. Wilson served as the Chief Marketing Officer of the United States Tennis Association from 2001 - 2009, where she was instrumental in making the US Open the highest attended annual sporting event in the world. From 2000 – 2001, she oversaw all marketing efforts for the launch of the XFL, a partnership between WWE and NBC. Prior to 2000, Ms. Wilson held consumer products and brand management positions at the NBA and Nabisco, respectively. Ms. Wilson was previously named among the “Next Wave of Leaders” by Broadcasting & Cable; a “Game Changer” by Sports Business Journal; one of Multichannel News’ “Women to Watch”; and one of Sports Illustrated’s 10 most influential women in sports.
Ms. Wilson sits on the Board of Directors for the Ad Council and Make-A-Wish Connecticut. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
