Ann Wells Crandall was named Chief Marketing Officer of the BIG EAST in August of 2013.
In her role, Crandall oversees all marketing and sales initiatives for the Conference, including brand development, advertising and promotion, strategic communications, corporate sales and sponsorship, licensing and digital strategies. More specifically, she helped shape the BIG EAST's relationships with Fox Sports 1, the conference's official broadcast network, and Madison Square Garden, home of the conference tournament.
Prior to joining the BIG EAST, Crandall served as Senior Vice President, Business Development, for PAC-12 Enterprises, and spent 12 years with the New York Road Runners, including as Executive Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. At NYRR, Crandall was responsible for a series of major sales and marketing advancements, including the creation of innovative marketing campaigns. She helped deliver triple-digit revenue growth across the organization's business units and added many new, long term strategic partnerships, including the organization's first-ever title sponsorship of the New York City Marathon (ING New York City Marathon). She also assisted in the negotiations for the Marathon's media rights and in devising the content strategy for the five-hour Marathon television broadcast.
Crandall has also held senior positions with the National Basketball Association and DIRECTV, Inc. She has been recognized as a leader in the sports business industry on multiple occasions, and was named to Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal as one of its inaugural "Game Changers: Women in Business" in 2011.
