WYC GROUSBECK

Boston Celtics; Co-Founder, Causewsay Media Partners

Wycliffe Grousbeck has been Governor and lead owner of the Boston Celtics since he conceived of the purchase of the team and then organized the new ownership group in late 2002. He named his acquisition vehicle Banner 17, LLC, and the Celtics in fact won their 17th championship in 2008.
In 2013 Wyc co-founded Causeway Media Partners, LP, a private equity firm managing over $340 million, focusing on sports and technology investments. Causeway’s investments include Formula E Holdings, SeatGeek, Flosports, TuneIn, and SportsEngine (sold to NBCU). Causeway recently raised its second fund.
In 2010 Wyc became Chairman of Massachusetts Eye and Ear, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School that has been a world leader in vision and hearing research, fighting blindness and deafness, for almost 200 years. Wyc launched and chairs a capital campaign that has to date raised close to $200 million for the institution.
Wyc and his wife Emilia Fazzalari are involved in a number of charities including Mass. Eye and Ear, the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, Camp Jabberwocky, National Braille Press, Horizons for Homeless Children, USA Rowing, and the Wonderfund.
Wyc holds a bachelor's degree in history from Princeton University (1983), where he rowed on an undefeated crew that claimed the national rowing championship; a law degree from the University of Michigan (1986); and an MBA from Stanford Business School where he was a Miller Scholar (1992). He serves on the board of Comcast SportsNet New England and Formula E Holdings.
