Don is responsible for developing and implementing brand strategies to establish the Johnson Controls brand as a global, multi-industrial leader that is recognized by customers, employees, investors and other key stakeholders and partners. He also leads enterprise efforts to drive marketing excellence capabilities across the company to enable growth aligned with the company’s strategies and business objectives.
Don joined the company in 2015 as Director of Brand and Corporate Marketing, where he was responsible for collaborating with business leaders throughout the organization to build and enhance the Johnson Controls brand. He has played a key role in establishing strong governance and brand management capabilities to protect and advance the corporate and product brand portfolios as strategic assets of the company. He was also instrumental in the formation of the Johnson Controls Pro Football Hall of Fame Village and the Milwaukee Bucks Founding Partner sponsorships. Prior to Johnson Controls, Don held a variety of marketing leadership roles at Warner Brothers, NBC Universal, Abbott, and Disney Consumer Products.
Don received a B.S. in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University in 1990 and a MBA in Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1996. Don also played basketball at Northwestern University, where he was on full scholarship from 1986-1990. He was named to the Big 10 Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team in 1990.
He is on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee Public Library and serves on the Marketing Committee for Neighborhood House of Milwaukee. Previously, he served on the Board of Directors at Los Angeles Youth Network, We Lift LA and was a mentor through BLOOM (Building a Lifetime of Options and Opportunities for Men) in Los Angeles.
