Charlie Besser is the founder, president and CEO of Intersport, a marketing and media solutions company that is #1 ranked for ideas, content and experiences across sports, lifestyle and entertainment. His Emmy Award-winning programming career includes the creation, production, distribution and packaging of thousands of hours of content across ABC, ESPN, CBS, Fox and NBC, as well as many prominent cable networks and digital platforms. Under his direction, Intersport has become a 15-time Emmy Award winner in brand-integrated sports television and has produced over 30,000 digital videos for many of the world’s most recognized brands, including as the exclusive television content partner of the James Beard Foundation.
In 2003, Besser launched Intersport’s sponsorship and event marketing division, a group that now executes hundreds of events per year. Intersport has been a perennial finalist for the Sports Business award recognizing Best in Sports Event and Experiential Marketing. It also has been named to Event Marketer’s “It List” nine of the last 11 years. Intersport’s Cadillac Culinary Challenge won the 2011 and 2012 Event Marketer Ex Award for Best Mall Event Program. Intersport assists numerous clients with sponsorships of and activation plans on the biggest sports stages such as the Super Bowl, World Series, PGA Tour, Bowl Championship Series, NCAA Final Four, MLB All-Star Game, the NBA All-Star Game and esports.
The Intersport properties division owns and operates stadium events across the country. The College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championship, All-Star Football Challenge, College Home Run Derby, and Under Armour All-America Game, are a few of the nationally televised events.
A graduate of Marquette University, Besser played varsity golf and received the prestigious McCahill Award as the university’s outstanding student athlete. He also is a graduate of Marquette University Law School.
