A Dallas couple is suing Chiefs WR RASHEE RICE and SMU CB THEODORE "TEDDY" KNOX in connection with a multivehicle crash last month that injured them and at least five others. EDVARD PETROVSKIY and IRINA GROMOVA are seeking more than $1M through the lawsuit, which alleged the two football players "challenged each other 'to a high-speed race' despite knowing the road was 'heavily trafficked with commuters.'" The filing appeared to be the first lawsuit reported in connection with the March 30 crash. Rice and Knox also each face one criminal count of aggravated assault, a count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 4/15).

NAMES: Former NASCAR driver TONY STEWART's 400-acre Hidden Hollow Ranch in Columbus, Ind., went back on the market Friday with a 25% price cut -- $22.5M. The home features "a two-story waterfall and trout stream at its entrance, a kitchen that boasts a large, commercial hibachi grill and a lower level with a bowling alley, gaming area, golf-simulator and lighted, onyx bar" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 4/15)....The Steve Smith Family Foundation announced Novant Health as the presenting sponsor for its new fundraising event, Rally for Mental Health and Celebrity Paddle Battle pickleball events, being held on May 3 and 4 at Pickleball Charlotte. The May 3 event will see former NFLers STEVE SMITH SR. and JONATHAN STEWART, former professional tennis player JOHN ISNER and current pickleball pro JACK SOCK square off in a best two-out-of-three game match (SSFF).

IN MEMORY: Former college AD STEVE SLOAN died Sunday in Orlando at 79. Sloan served as AD at Alabama (1987-89), North Texas (1990-92), UCF (1993-2002) and Chattanooga (2002-06). He oversaw UCF's transition to D-I status (AL.com, 4/15).
