People are beginning to arrive at this spectacular resort for this week’s World Congress of Sports, which formally begins tomorrow morning. We got here yesterday afternoon and the place has simply been outstanding. Just a few steps from the shore, this Mediterrean-themed resort has all the amenities and attention to detail that you could think of – and beautiful vistas and views in each direction.

If you’re coming out here, you’ll love the forecast. Bright gorgeous sun for the next three days and highs in the mid-70s

Last night we ran into IMG College’s Lee Stacey and had a drink watching the most amazing sunset drop behind Catalina Island and talked about the travails of Eliot Spitzer, SpyGate and the powerful NBA Western Conference.

Over the next two days we will be filing news updates from the World Congress, complete with insider’s perspective from the event, notes from inside and outside the sessions and a full slate of brief but informative video interviews with some of the top decision makers in sports. We hope to give you a sense of being here among the 500 executives. Please offer up your questions, thoughts and comments – and if we don’t see you in Dana Point or at our Forty Under 40 event this week, we hope you at least get a sense of the event from these filings and videos. Check back often.
