Sports Illustrated To Launch Chinese Edition This Fall

Sports Illustrated will launch SI China beginning this fall in partnership with SEEC Media Group. The magazine will have a staff of writers, editors and designers based in Beijing and throughout China, with correspondents in the U.S. and Europe. The magazine, which will run biweekly at its launch with a plan to move to weekly, will carry mostly original content with some translated stories from the U.S. edition of SI. Emphasis will be placed on coverage of Chinese and American pro basketball, European and Chinese soccer and other sports that will be part of the ’08 Beijing Games (SI).
