| Bill Grants Approval To SoCal NFL Stadium |
The long-term prospects of the NFL’s return to L.A. could be at their highest point in years with California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signing a bill that would grant final approval to a stadium proposal from Ed Roski’s development group. Work on the highly-discussed $800M project in City of Industry would be able to begin in 90 days once the law goes into effect. However, it appears to be a long time until shovels dig into the SoCal dirt. Roski’s Majestic Realty Co. will not begin construction on the stadium until it has a relocation commitment from a current NFL team. While the Governator has let it be known he does not want one of the current teams in the Golden State moving to the new facility, two newspaper editorials note Schwarzenegger’s actions could force the 49ers, Raiders or Chargers to leave town.
