It is the perfect storm for MLS. The league gets its global star, David Beckham, and its marquee team, the Galaxy, in MLS Cup. It gets a rabid, soccer-crazed marketplace as the host. And it is expecting a sell-out crowd of around 42,000. The stage is set up perfectly, and YAHOO SPORTS' Martin Rogers writes whether Beckham "can complete his remarkable revival" with a MLS Cup title is the "one storyline that is going to spike the ratings for Sunday's game." But Don Garber has been in this business a long time, and pressed to speculate on a possible rating for the event, he tells SI.com, "It certainly helps to have two of your biggest stars in the game. ... I'm smart enough not to make any predictions because you never know where it will end up." Garber certainly seems poised to be around to see future growth, as SI.com reports he is "widely expected to sign a contract extension in the next few weeks".
