ABC’s “MNF” earned a 13.6/21 overnight Nielsen rating for Cowboys-Eagles last night, up 7.9% from a 12.6/20 for Eagles-Cowboys last year. Last night’s game earned a 35.2 in Philadelphia and a 31.0 in Dallas (THE DAILY).
ESPN GOES REGIONAL: ESPN will regionally televise a Division I-A football game for the first time, providing West Coast viewers with Ohio State-Michigan at 10:00am PT on Saturday. ABC is airing the game to 70% of the country, but is not allowed to broadcast it on the West Coast “because of government limitations on the number of times ABC’s Saturday morning children’s programming can be preempted” (L.A. TIMES, 11/15).
JOB CANDIDATE: In N.Y., Bob Raissman cites sources saying that TBS Braves analyst Don Sutton “is on a short list” of candidates to become a Mets analyst for SportsNet N.Y. (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/15).
WAYNE’S WORLD: FSN Arizona is averaging a 0.9 cable Nielsen rating for 13 Coyotes games this season, a 21% increase through the same number of telecasts during the ’03-04 season (FSN Arizona). Meanwhile, FSN Utah has inked a deal to broadcast 28 Coyotes games this season. The network rebranded from FSN Rocky Mountain for viewers in Utah in August (THE DAILY).
