The Tampa Sports Authority voted to appeal the temporary injunction imposed by Hillsborough Circuit Court Judge Perry Little halting pat-downs at Raymond James Stadium after the NFL agreed to pay the bill. Attorneys for Buccaneers season-ticket holder Gordon Johnston, who sued over the searches, “can seek to have [them] stopped while the appeal is considered,” and indicated that they “are likely to do that” (Bill Varian, ST. PETE TIMES, 11/1).

Xs & Os: The Sonics and WNBA Storm have partnered with XO Communications to open the XO Communications Board Room, a 100-seat luxury suite at KeyArena that features various amenities. The teams last year unveiled the 90-seat Draft Room, which sold out by the middle of the Sonics’ season and had a 100% renewal rate for this season. Tickets in both areas costs $225 per seat per game (Sonics & Storm).

WATER DISPLACEMENT: In Miami, George Richards reported the NHL Panthers “won’t be able to practice at their Incredible Ice training facility in Coral Springs for at least the next couple of months because of damage caused by Hurricane Wilma.” It is “possible the Panthers would look” to Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke Pines or the Glacier Ice & Snow Arena in Pompano Beach “as a secondary training site” (MIAMI HERALD, 10/30).
