“Natalie,” The Golf Channel’s reality series about LPGAer Natalie Gulbis, was
scheduled to complete shooting in June and debut last week, but TGC schedule planner
Shay Noggle said the series had “production issues” and is “on hold until at least
November” (SACRAMENTO BEE, 7/26).

The CBC Airing Cherry’s “Coach’s
Corner” Without Seven-Second Delay
|
CHERRY BOMB: With the CBC deciding to no longer use a seven-second delay
during Don Cherry’s “Coach’s Corner” segment on “Hockey Night In Canada,” in Toronto,
William Houston writes the delay “wasn’t practical.” CBC Exec Producer Joel Darling:
“We were able to do it, but we obviously didn’t have to use it. Now, it’s a different
time.” Houston notes the delay was mandated by former CBC TV Exec VP Harold Redekopp,
who has since left the network and been replaced by Richard Stursberg (GLOBE
& MAIL, 7/27).
RACING: In Charlotte, Erik Spanberg reports News Corp.’s Speed Channel,
after considering moving from Charlotte to another city or closer to NASCAR teams
north of the city, “has instead settled on a two-year lease extension” for its
current HQs through ’08. The network will increase its space to 23,000 square
feet from the current 19,000 (CHARLOTTE
BUSINESS JOURNAL, 7/22 issue)....NASCAR Chair & CEO Brian France, “lamenting
the lack of racing coverage in the press,” said at the CTAM Summit yesterday,
that he is “mulling the idea of developing content that could be used by news
organizations sort of a ‘NASCAR AP’” (CABLEFAX DAILY, 7/27).
