NFL: The first window of Fox’ Week Ten regional NFL
coverage Sunday was off 9% from Week Nine regional coverage last year. The second
window, which featured Vikings-Packers to 76% of the U.S., was up 6% over last
year's 13.2/24 for Redskins-Cowboys. Fox’ doubleheader average earned a 2% increase
against last year's 9.9/20. CBS' Week Ten regional coverage posted a 3% increase
from Week Nine in '03 (THE DAILY). Vikings-Packers Sunday on Fox had
21.6 million viewers. It marked the fifth NFL game this season with at least
20 million viewers, up from three games with at least that many through the
comparable week in ‘03 (NFL).
MNF: ABC’s Eagles-Cowboys on “MNF” earned an 11.6/19
national rating, down 7% from last year's 12.5/21 for Eagles-Packers and down
6.5% from the comparable '02 game. ABC’s seven-minute ”MNF” pre-game, featuring
the Terrell Owens/”Desperate Housewives” skit, drew a 9.2/14, off 4% from the
Eagles-Packers’ pre-game intro in '03 (THE DAILY). ... Eagles-Cowboys
earned a 7.1/19 in the 18-49 demo and 17.11 million viewers (DAILY VARIETY,
11/17).
SOCCER: ABC's coverage of Sunday's MLS Cup was up 33%
against last year's 0.6/2 for Fire-Earthquakes (THE DAILY). ... The game
drew a 2.4 in K.C. Head-to-head against the Chiefs-Saints from 2:30-3:15pm CT,
MLS Cup drew a 0.8 rating, but peaked at a 4.2 at 4:30pm. Chiefs-Saints earned
a 33.9 and 300,000 HHs in K.C. (K.C. STAR, 11/16).
NBA: In N.Y., Marc Berman reported MSG Network’s ratings
for the first five Knicks games are up 47% over last season’s first five games
(N.Y. POST, 11/16).
FOX’ HEAVY WORLD SERIES PROMOTION: Tuesday’s episode
of “Rebel Billionaire” drew a 2.4/6 in adults 18-49 demo, 5.09 million viewers
(DAILY VARIETY, 11/17). USA TODAY’s Gary Levin wrote, “The weak start
[by ‘Rebel Billionaire’] echoed the failure of NBC’s ‘$25 Million Hoax’ (7.1
million down to 6.1 million this week) and Fox’ ‘My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss’”
(USA TODAY, 11/17). Fox’ premiere of “House” Tuesday averaged a fourth-place
2.7/6 in adults 18-49 and 7.05 million viewers (DAILY VARIETY, 11/18).
