Promise Of A New Stadium Helping Fire's Season-Ticket Sales

The MLS Fire's season-ticket revenue is the highest in the club's seven-year history and 34% higher than last year, according to Nathaniel Whalen of the DAILY SOUTHTOWN. While part of the increase is due to higher prices, the team has sold 4,000-5,000 season tickets this year, about 20% more than last year. Fire GM Peter Wilt credited the team's "return to Soldier Field after nearly two seasons in Naperville," as well as the announcement of a new soccer stadium in Bridgeview, for boosting sales. Wilt added, "In Soldier Field, there are over 50,000 seats and the fans know they will never get shut out. But in the new stadium there will be a lot of games that if people don't have season tickets, they won't be able to get seats. With the stadium move, people have been moved to buy season tickets now" (DAILY SOUTHTOWN, 5/7).
