Anheuser-Busch has purchased the naming rights for the Bud
Light Paseo, "a major feature in the $67[M] expansion" of America West Arena,
and extended their media, sponsorship and promotional agreement with the Suns
through the '06-07 season, according to the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. The Bud Light
Paseo, on the east side of the arena, features a 50- by 350-foot canopy, "more
than $1[M] in audio and video technology ... a new bar and a television studio/live
performance stage." America West Arena GM Paige Peterson predicted that the
area "will not only be fully integrated into the 160 annual sports, entertainment
and cultural events at America West Arena but will also work in concert with
all downtown venues" (ARIZONA
REPUBLIC, 3/13).
