Marketplace Round-Up
In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton reports
Pfizer "has quietly renewed its Viagra sponsorship with" MLB for another year
through an option in its existing deal. Viagra, which will no longer use Orioles
1B Rafael Palmeiro as a spokesperson, is "looking to increase its team sponsorships
to as many as 14 clubs and run more in-stadium activity to go along with another
mlb.com promo" (SPORTSBUSINESS
JOURNAL, 3/15 issue).
TWO-SOME: The No. 88 UPS Ford driven by Dale Jarrett,
which finished ninth during yesterday's Golden Corral 500, "featured a paint
scheme saluting the upcoming 50th Masters appearance" of golfer Arnold Palmer,
who was the grand marshal of the race (Richmond TIMES-DISPATCH, 3/15).
GOING WEST: NFL Network's "NFL Total Access" went behind
the scenes on Friday on the set of a new Coors Light spot at the L.A. Coliseum
featuring former Broncos QB John Elway, referee Red Cashion and NFL Network's
Rich Eisen. The spot will air next season (NFL Network, 3/12).
