NATIONAL TV MONITOR: Last night's 11:00pm ET 60-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with free agent F Karl Malone committing to sign with the Lakers, followed by reports that free agent G Jason Kidd will not re-sign with the Nets if the team does not fire head coach Byron Scott, and Yankees-Indians. ESPN's "Around The Horn" led with Kidd, followed by Pirates 1B Randall Simon hitting the Italian sausage mascot with a bat during Wednesday's sausage race at Miller Park, and Magic Johnson stating Malone can wear his retired No. 32 jersey with the Lakers. ESPN's "PTI" led with Simon, followed by Kidd, and Malone. ESPN's Shelley Smith discussed Lakers G Kobe Bryant's arrest for alleged sexual assault during the show's "Five Good Minutes" segment. FSN's "BDSSP" led with a roundtable discussion on Simon, followed by interviews with FSN legal analyst Rob Becker and Sports Business Group President David Carter on Bryant. ESPN's "OTL Nightly" led with a report on Kidd, followed by an interview with Bergen Record columnist Adrian Wojnarowski and N.Y. Times writer Mike Wise on Kidd, and an interview with former NHL Kings Owner Bruce McNall.

REGIONAL TV MONITOR: MSG's "SportsDesk" led with Kidd, followed by the Knicks naming Nets Senior VP Willis Reed as Special Basketball Advisor, and Knicks second-round draft pick Maciej Lampe being cleared to practice with the team. FSN's "Pittsburgh Sports Report" led with Simon, followed by Pirates-Brewers, and 1B Kevin Young signing with the Twins.

ON THE AIR THIS MORNING: Mandy Block, the Italian Sausage mascot struck by Simon, appeared on ABC's "GMA" with fellow hot dog mascot Veronica Piech to discuss the incident. Block also appeared on NBC's "Today" and CBS' "The Early Show." "Today's" Willard Scott was on location in Newport, RI for the kickoff of Sports Illustrated's 50th Anniversary celebration, where he spoke with former Spurs C and SI 50th Anniversary Ambassador of Sport David Robinson. Tennis great Martina Navratilova also appeared on "Today" and discussed her Wimbledon mixed doubles championship and tennis career.

ON THE AIR TODAY: SI Senior Writer Alexander Wolff will be on CNBC's "Power Lunch" to discuss the magazine's 50th anniversary.

ON THE AIR TONIGHT: Winston Cup driver Kevin Harvick, former MLBer Bobby Mitchell and actor Antony Michael Hall are scheduled to appear on FSN's "BDSSP." Brewers announcer Bob Uecker, actor/comedian Martin Lawrence and Roc-a-fella Records CEO Damon Dash will be on HBO's "On The Record" with Bob Costas. Have a submission for On The Air?
