RACING: Mike Wallace will drive the 1 800-CALLATT entry for Andy Petree Racing in the Pepsi 400 at Daytona Int'l Speedway next Saturday. The Chevy will feature 1 800-CALLATT spokesperson Carrot Top, who will be honorary crew chief for the day (THE DAILY). The deal is for one event only, but Wallace said "there's definitely a possibility" 1-800-CALLATT could sponsor his car for the remainder of the season ("RPM2Night," ESPN2, 6/27)....In K.C., Jim Pedley writes that the NASCAR Craftsman truck being driven by Carl Edwards "will be dedicated" to the late Jack Buck and Darryl Kile during this weekend's race in Milwaukee. A "memorial to Buck and Kile will be displayed on the quarterpanels of Edwards' truck" (K.C. STAR, 6/28)....Kentucky Speedway has extended its corporate partnership with John Deere to be the Official Tractor of the track through '05 (KY Speedway).
NOTES FROM PHILLY: In Philadelphia, Frank Fitzpatrick reports the July 19-21 Braves-Phillies series will be sponsored by Viagra (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 6/28)....WUSA Charge D Heather Mitts received 19,820 votes, or 46% of 42,521 overall votes, to win Playboy.com's sexiest women's soccer player poll. Charge F Rakel Karvelsson finished second with 7,515, or 17% of the vote. Mitts, on posing nude for Playboy: "No one has officially asked me to do it, but it would be highly unlikely!" More Mitts, on winning the poll: "I think it's fine to be both athletic and feminine at the same time. That is a positive message for young girls growing up" (PLAYBOY.com, 6/26).
