Get Them While They Last: Bobbleheads Are Still A Hot Item

MLB Properties has developed an exclusive promotion for the '02 season, entitled "The Road to the Show," that features 14 bobblehead dolls of current and former MLB players in their Minor League Baseball uniforms. Each of the 14 bobbleheads will represent one of the current leagues in Minor League Baseball. Beginning with the April 24 issue of USA Today Baseball Weekly, a different bobblehead will be unveiled each week in a full-page ad. The 14 bobbleheads are from the "Bobble Dobbles" line produced by Alexander Global Promotions. Only 5,000 of each bobblehead will be produced, and they will be available on MLB.com for $24.99. The entire set of 14 will be available exclusively on MinorLeagueBaseball.com for $299.99 (MLB).

TURN BACK THE CLOCK: A bobblehead of Negro Leaguer Buck O'Neil in a '42 K.C. Monarchs jersey will be unveiled today. Proceeds benefit the Negro Leagues Museum (K.C. STAR, 4/25).

SOLD OUT SCOT: In Sacramento, Bob Shallit reported that bobbleheads of Kings F Scot Pollard came out Monday. At an area Carl's Jr., "a line began forming a little after 6 a.m., five hours before the dolls would be available. By midmorning, managers were telling those at the back of the line that — sorry — there weren't going to be enough Pollards for everybody" (Sacramento BEE, 4/24).
