TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:30pm ET 30-minute edition of FSN's "National Sports Report" led with Penguins RW Jaromir Jagr being traded to the Capitals, followed by C Antonio Davis signing a 5-year, $60M contract with the Raptors. Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with Jagr, followed by Red Wings G Dominik Hasek becoming ill in the Czech Republic. The first non-NHL report was Davis' signing. Last night's 11:00pm ET 60-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with Jagr, followed by Davis' signing (THE DAILY).

THE GUEST LIST: D'Backs P Curt Schilling will be on "Up Close," while "The Last Word" will discuss sports and entertainment with comedians Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel.

AND NOW A WORD FROM THE VIEWERS: In VA, Jerry Lindquist reports viewers complained about the "constant [commercial] interruptions" during NBC's broadcast of the NASCAR Winston Cup Pepsi 400 Saturday. WWBT-NBC Program Supervisor Jo Anne Cardwell said, "I had 65 calls in my voice-mail when I got to work. That makes you stop and pay attention." WWBT GM Don Richards said NBC headquarters "hadn't gotten that many calls." Richards: "They said, frankly, they got more calls about Wimbledon" (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 7/12).

NOTES: In Detroit, John Niyo noted CNBC's 0.25 cable rating for the Senior PGA Tour through mid-June is down almost 50% from last year's ESPN telecasts. But PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said Senior Tour is "reaching a wealthier demographic" on CNBC (DETROIT NEWS, 7/11)....In Atlanta, Prentis Rogers reported the current cable average of 1.4 (1.2 million HHs) for Braves games on TBS is off 13% from last year, but has "begun to climb" as the "dropoff hovered" in the 20% range at times this season (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 7/11)....In Philadelphia, Kevin Mulligan cites sources as saying that former Philadelphia Mayor Ed Rendell's position as a commentator on "Eagles Post Game Live" "appears to be over." Rendell appeared on the show the last two seasons (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 7/12).
